It all started with a pile of reclaimed barnwood and a passion for building things with character. My first project? A rustic American flag made from old boards pulled straight out of a Wisconsin barn. From there, friends and neighbors started asking for custom flags, and then farmhouse shelves, then desks, and before I knew it—we were doing full kitchens, built-ins, and specialty home projects. BarnFlag USA grew naturally out of that journey. What began as a side hustle became a calling.

One of my favorite builds was for a client who wanted a full bar and kitchen setup in his pool house—everything made entirely from reclaimed lumber. He had a strong vision: rustic, warm, and built to last. We brought it to life by blending reclaimed wood, corrugated tin, and these massive, extra-wide planks that we turned into a thick, statement countertop. The bar front was wrapped in weathered barnwood with layers of history in every board. The tin added just the right amount of texture and contrast. For the countertops, we used reclaimed slabs that were sanded smooth but still showed off all the knots, cracks, and character you’d expect from old lumber. The end result felt like it had been there for generations—but it was brand new and completely custom. That project was the perfect mix of function, style, and storytelling. That’s the kind of work I live for.
